A key standout features includes updated badges that appear on top of a game card, identifying whether that software is an first-gen Switch release, updated model, or digital copy.

Improved Friend Search and In-Game Communication Functions

When searching for players to add as a friend, the Search for Users You’ve Played With setting under Add Friend now includes users you've interacted with in your pals' chat sessions.

With respect to in-game chat, multiple upgrades were added:

  • The game will not put itself to sleep while chatting.
  • A feature to disable “Chat Audio Panning” has been introduced.
  • Communication remains active if the system goes from docked mode to portable or stand mode, particularly if this change leads to the network changing from a cable connection to a Wi-Fi one.

Efficient Content Acquisition and Controller Audio Modes

While acquiring several games at once, you now have the option to cancel them all with a single tap.

Regarding Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller players, a fresh low-latency sound setting has been introduced, allowing you to opt for between “Stable” or “Low Latency” settings.

Reduced Delay lowers sound delay relative to “Stable” but might be more susceptible to interference in certain untethered setups.

Virtual Game Card Data Installation Enhancement

An additional key change enables you to download content for a downloadable software if the “Use Online License” feature is disabled.

This feature is found in the Menu of a virtual game card when selected via Digital Titles from the HOME Menu.

Further Console Enhancements

Beyond these headline changes, the patch brings multiple further enhancements:

  • Ease of access changes: Text to Speech now reads predictive conversion letters on the Japan layout, and the narration rate maximum setting got raised from 300% to 400%.
  • Visual options: Enhanced contrast is now called to “System Screen’s HDR Output,” and display calibration is now easier to configure.
  • Notifications changes: The setting "Platinum Point Notification” has been retitled to "Nintendo Switch Online Notification."
  • System options: Battery control offers “Stop Charging Around 80-90%” replacing the previous “Stop Charging Around 90%” option.
  • Locale options: Thailand's language and Polish are now included to the list of supported locales, although they can only be available in software that offer the respective locale.
  • System-wide stability upgrades to boost the user's experience.
